The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston presents Winter Festival, a family-friendly event to celebrate Lunar New Year. The celebration will feature music performances, calligraphy demonstrations, art-making activities, and a variety of food.
Performances will include taiko drummers with Kaminari Taiko of Houston, a musical performance form the North American Youth Chinese Orchestra (NAYCO), a martial arts demonstration from Vovinam Hoa Lu, a giant dragon and lion dance, and more.
Families can also participate in art-making activities like creating firecracker sculptures, painting Vietnamese peach blossoms and more. Guests can enjoy food from Hella Bubble, CaoBao, Chi’Lantro, and more.
Visitors are encouraged to stroll in the museum to see artwork in the Arts of Asia galleries. The Museum's collections of Asian art span nearly five millennia and encompass the cultures of China, the Himalayas, India, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia.
