Carolyn Pfeiffer, is an American film producer who currently resides in Marfa. Early in her career she lived in Italy and became Claudia Cardinale’s assistant, later working for Alain Delon and Omar Sharif before establishing a successful public relations company in London. Pfeiffer later produced and distributed films in Jamaica and the United States, including a long-standing collaboration with Alan Rudolph.
Pfeiffer will introduce and discuss this weekend’s films, sharing anecdotes about her collaborations with director Alan Rudolph and her involvement with Claudia Cardinale and Italy’s film scene in the 1960s. Her new memoir, Chasing the Panther: Adventures and Misadventures of a Cinematic Life, will be on sale at the screenings throughout the weekend.
All films are screened in Brown Auditorium Theater, located in the Caroline Wiess LawBuilding.

Filmed in Austin, Roadie features legendary musicians including Alice Cooper, Deborah Harry and Blondie, Roy Orbison, and Hank Williams, Jr.
- October 22: The Leopard (Il Gattopardo), directed by Luchino Visconti - The Prince of Salina (Burt Lancaster), a noble aristocrat of impeccable integrity, tries to preserve his family and class amid the tumultuous social upheavals of 1860s Sicily. Claudia Cardinale plays a beautiful young woman who becomes engaged to the prince’s nephew (Alain Delon).
