ECHOrchestra will present its Spring concert, an expression of two rhapsodies and new compositions. The program features piano soloist Andrew Staupe with a performance of Rhapsody in Blue, one of George Gershwin’s most famous works. The program also features the world premiere of a new work by Mark Buller, ECHO’s Composer-in-Residence, a musical retelling of the final moments in Ulysses by James Joyce when the protagonist’s love resolves. The orchestra will also perform Hungarian Rhapsody by Franz Liszt to conclude the exploration of musical rhapsodies.
Additionally, the youth concerto competition winner, Vanae Schunk will perform the 1st movement of the Barber Violin Concerto and the orchestra will perform a world premiere composed by the winner of ECHO’s YoungComposer Competition, Caleb Mayberry.
