Texas New Music Ensemble will present its first concert of 2015-2016 featuring a five piece performance by world renowned pianist, Makiko Hirata.

After touring with the National Symphony Orchestra when she was 17, Hirata continues to seek diverse and creative ways to share music and regularly writes and lectures about music. She has toured the United States and Europe as the featured soloist with Pecs Hungarian Symphony Orchestra, Polish Philharmonic Resovia, and Arad State Philharmonia from Romania.

The program will feature works written by five accomplished Texas-based composers: Dan Welcher, J. Todd Frazier, David Ashley White, Karim Al-Zand, and Chad Robinson. An informal post-concert meet and greet reception with Hirata and the attending composers will be held directly following the evening's program.
