Texas Music Festival: Symphony Orchestra with Franz Anton Krager

Now in its 21st season, the Texas Music Festival brings talented music students from around the world for an international summer orchestral training program at the University of Houston Moores School of Music. More than 350 students competed for the 95 orchestra positions in live and recorded auditions. Throughout the residency, from June 7-July 3, students will take part in a wide array of concerts that feature top conductors and musical artists. The concerts are open to the public.

To kick off the concert series, conductor Franz Anton Krager leads the Texas Music Festival orchestra in a symphonic concert including Lieuwen's "Concerto for Piano, Marimba and Orchestra", Ravel's "La valse" and Respighi's "Feste romane." The concerto features renowned marimba artist Jesus Morales and pianist Leonel Morales.
