Texas Music Festival: Symphony Orchestra with Horst Foerster

Now in its 21st season, the Texas Music Festival brings talented music students from around the world for an international summer orchestral training program at the University of Houston Moores School of Music. More than 350 students competed for the 95 orchestra positions in live and recorded auditions. Throughout the residency, from June 7-July 3, students will take part in a wide array of concerts that feature top conductors and musical artists. The concerts are open to the public.

Conductor Horst Foerster leads the Texas Music Festival orchestra in a performance of Wagner's Overture to Der fliegende Holländer, Bartok's Viola Concerto and Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique, Op. 14. The event features Rita Porfiris on the viola.
