Audience members can experience what is widely considered one of the greatest choral works in history when Texas Master Chorale presents Mozart’s Requiem.
Commissioned by Count Franz von Walsegg for the first anniversary of his young wife’s death, the masterpiece was unfinished when Mozart himself died in December 1791 at the age of 35. His friend, Joseph Eybler, continued working on Requiem, and it was later completed by Mozart’s student, Franz Xaver Sussmayr.
