Texas Independent Bookstore Day is modeled on the success of Independent Bookstore Day, but designed to highlight Texas bookstores in particular. The Lone Star State is full of dedicated readers and home to a vibrant literary scene, and so this celebration is designed to create a platform where Texas book lovers can coalesce statewide.
Plans at Brazos Bookstore include:
- 10:30 am: A Texas-themed family story time in the morning, with activities, crafts, and a scavenger hunt
- 1-3 pm: The debut of our Paper and Pen Pal Club, which celebrates the value of old-fashioned communication, as well as complimentary coffee
- 4-5 pm: Happy Hour! With beer from 11 Below (sponsored by Spec’s) and specially-curated music
- 6-8 pm: A local vendor market, spotlighting some of our favorite Houston artisans, and food
