The Texas Traditions Luncheon, emceed by KHOU news anchor Lily Jang, honors Mayor Annise Parker's commitment to protecting and celebrating Houston's diversity.

Texans Together works in Houston's historically disengaged minority communities, training grassroots leaders to foster civic engagement and turn out their neighbors to vote. These leaders conduct all levels of civic actions, from developing community gardens to issue advocacy for education funding to developing self-sustaining community centers inside apartment complexes via the Apartments Are Communities project.
