British-Pakistani writer and filmmaker Tariq Ali will give a lecture on Pakistan at the Rothko Chapel on Nov. 13, followed by a book signing and reception.

Ali is a novelist, historian, political campaigner and activist; a frequent contributor to the BBC and the Guardian, and has written extensively about Islam.

Houston's Rothko chapel is an appropriate venue, having been founded by John and Dominique de Menil to broaden interfaith understanding and bring people of differing background together in this neutral, meditative space.
