Pouring Tea is a dramatic reading based on the oral histories collected in E. Patrick Johnson's book, Sweet Tea: Black Gay Men of the South - An Oral History. The stories are from black gay men who were born, raised and continue to live in the South and range in age from 19 to 93. This production covers coming of age in the South, religion, sex, transgenderism, love stories and coming out.
The performance will also include a special presentation by spoken word sensation SeEk thePoEt and will be followed by a question and answer session and book signing.
