The film is based on The Book of Intimate Grammar by David Grossman. The story begins in Israel in the early 1960s, where a new generation is emerging: The militant Israelis, a generation that will not go through another Holocaust. But Aharon, a sensitive boy with a highly developed inner world, does not quite fit the mold. His soul seeks refinement, art and everything he is unable to find at home.
