Festival del Sabor is a fundraising event celebrating the culture, music, food, beverages, dances, and popular aspects of Latin culture As part of The Year of the Woman, the event features four guest women headliners, including Michelle Brava (Puerto Rico), Yamilka (Dominican Republic), Yoko ‘La Japonesa Salsera’ (Japan) and Isis ‘The Voice’ (Puerto Rico).
The event also includes a special tribute to the First Lady and Queen of Salsa, Celia Cruz. In addition, the citywide CD release concerts of Jorge Orta ‘Cro Cro’ y su Tumbaká (Venezuela, former member of Grupo Niche), whose production was included among the 20 Best of 2014 by Descarga.com, online’s most respected Latin Music magazine; and Angelucho y su Copacabana (Cuba), one of 2013’s top regional Latin music recordings.
This event benefits The Year of the Woman: A Call to Action!, an artistic and social initiative working to educate on the need to stand-up against violence against women and human trafficking.
