Station Theater presents Singularity: Magical Lying Hour with Kinda Sketchy + Ophelia's Rope

Each month during Singularity at Station Theater, a new comedic act headlines the show preceded by talented comedic opening acts.

In Magical Lying Hour, an actor memorizes a scene from a play and sticks to their script as an improviser does their best to perform in the scene.

Kinda Sketchy is the most hilarious, riveting, ground-breaking (and only) sketch comedy troupe to come out of Rice University. They write and perform original scenes, the goal of which is to be funny. Preferably more than once. Rumored to literally be Comedic Gods, and/or not approved by the FDA (how much laughter is no longer the best medicine?), Kinda Sketchy is ready to knock your socks off, metaphorically of course. Unless you ask us really nicely.

Ophelia’s Rope is a two-person long form improv group that takes its inspiration from you. That’s right, you. A typical show is kicked off by Ophelia’s Rope asking its audience one or two random questions, proceeding to morph the answers into a setting, plot, and duo of unexpected, and sometimes quirky, characters. With no story predicted, no ending forecasted, Ophelia’s Rope wanders the worlds of imagination, coloring surprising scenes their audiences inspired.
