Gidion's Knot explores difficult questions about art and creativity, parental responsibility, the true nature of childhood and the increasing tension between freedom and safety in an educational system charged with serving both the needs of each child and the greater good. Stages' production of Gidion's Knot marks the regional premiere of the play, which has also been produced in Chicago, Washington D.C., and Berkley, Calif.
