Houstonians will be treated to an inside glimpse of the heart of Houston's art community when Winter Street, Spring Street and Silver Street Studios host their Spring Biannual Art Opening. More than 250 artists will open their doors and invite the public inside to view new work, shop and become collectors.
The studio buildings are located in the Washington Avenue Arts District, which boasts the largest concentration of working artists in Texas. The Spring Biannual will showcase a variety of art works including painting, sculpture, ceramics, fiber, glass, mosaic, photography, mixed media, and jewelry.
Visitors will be treated to museum quality artists, many of them represented by local and nationwide galleries. The opening is free and guests will be treated to complimentary valet, light bites and beverages. Pedi-cab shuttles between all three buildings will also be available.
During the event, the studios will also be hosting a Charity 12x12 exhibition benefiting the Memorial Park Conservancy. Artists in all three buildings have donated their time to create a special 12 by 12-inch square piece that will sell for $100, with all proceeds benefiting the conservancy.
