Down home music buff Chris Strachwitz formed Arhoolie Records in 1960 to record the music he loved: The blues, Tejano, Cajun, fife and drum, all the different sounds that lay outside the mouse music, the small and insignificant sounds produced by corporate culture. Maureen Gosling and Chris Simon, veteran documentarians, follow Strachwitz on his journeys through the South and in Texas to find the real human sounds and, along the way, meet and interview musicians and fans.
