Art League Houston hosts the second evening of sound performances organized by Markus Cone in conjunction with Adela Andea's Cocomirle installation. Doors open at 6 p.m.; music starts at 7:15 p.m.
The program includes Illicit Relationship by Austin Cooley and Carol Ann Sandin; a work by Brent Fariss, a composer/performer living in Austin who has collaborated in several modern music ensembles, including ThomFariCraw, the Austin New Music Co-op and the Gates Ensemble; Gr@¥M@tt£r (Gray Matter), the brainchild of visual artist Felipe Lopez and classical pianist Meghan Hendley that takes elements of the arts and turns them into soundscapes of the modern era; and Tolerance by Chin Xaou Ti Won, a Houston-based audio project official founded in 2008 that specializes in ambient sound structures and avant-garde grade synth-pop infused with a stylistic approach to contemporary classical music.
The evening also includes the closing reception of Art Criticism and Reporting, a two-part exhibition by Devon Britt-Darby, who will be present to offer remarks at 6:30 p.m.
