The Second Annual Skatestock "Peace, love and skateboards," is a grassroots, all-day event connecting skateboarding, music, art and science. The park will be transformed into an open-air gallery featuring Houston artists and photographers. The master of ceremonies will be Chris Gentry of Pro Riders.
The event will feature live music on two stages from Something Fierce, Hell City Kings, Sanctus Bellum, Tax the Wolf, Bald Eagle Burger, No Love Less, Hershel Berry and the Natives, Rivers, Pinky Lieder, DJ Brother Roo, Ceeplus Bad Knives, DJ Cipher and others.
When the sun goes down, surfing videos will be projected on the ceiling of the World's Largest Cradle while skaters enjoy carving through it. In addition, unique physics experiments will be conducted on the skater's velocity and weightlessness by professor Adrian Lenardic of the Rice University Earth Science Department.
Everyone is encouraged to get their hands dirty and make some art. There will be interactive workshops taking place throughout the park all day and night. Bring your cameras, your skateboards and curiosity and spend the entire day at the park.
