Close your eyes. Close your ears. Imagine trying to understand the world.
Eleven-year-old Lauren, who's growing up in Kingwood, is deafblind. She needs help learning how to communicate and access the world around her. There is a solution. The world can be explained through an intervener's hands. Lauren' intervener costs her family $1,000 a week and is sustained by fundraisers and donations.
The tournament, with a shotgun start, is in scramble format. Tee time will be at 1 p.m. Lunch will be provided at registration, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Golfers can compete in the putting contest, the long drive contest and the closest to the pin contest. Following the tradition of past tournaments, a wide assortment of raffle prizes will also be available.
