Act 1 of Sharing Stories is a Kathak-Flamenco curtain raiser featuring two dynamic dance ensembles, accompanied by live musicians from Indian classical and Spanish folk tradition, who will create a captivating, high-energy, foot-tapping artistic conversation.
Act 2 is the feature presentation, Chakryavyuh: Battle Against the Odds, an original Indian classical dance-theater production that tells the story of a 16-year old warrior who fought fearlessly, trapped in the unbreakable battle formation, the Chakravyuh, in the epic Kurukshetra war of Indian mythology. The story is a tale of bravery, deceit, familial bonds and feuds, war strategy, and maternal angst taken from the ancient Sanskrit epic, the Mahabharata.
