The Shepherd School of Music’s Opera Department and Chamber Orchestra will present its spring opera, Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring. The production will be directed by Richard Bado, director of Rice's Opera Studies Program, and staged by guest director Brad Dalton.
The three-act comedic opera is regarded by critics as "one of the greatest comedic operas" of the 20th century. Albert Herring is a comedy that concerns an adolescent stunted by the demands of village traditions.
