Shepherd School of Music presents Chamber Music Festival: What's in a Name?

Nicknames are often given as terms of endearment to friends and family, and the same is true for some works of music. The fall Chamber Music Festival highlights music with nicknames (given by the composers, critics, or fans) as well as works with names that reflect each piece’s characteristics. Concerts will include works such as Schubert’s Piano Quintet in A Major “The Trout”; Smetana String Quartet No. 1 “From My Life”; and Beethoven’s String Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 74 “Harp”.
