Rice University's Shepherd School of Music faculty and students will perform a chamber benefit concert for YES Prep Southeast. YES Prep is a Houston public school for children from low-income families that's on a mission to start a band program from scratch, but needs donations in order to purchase musical instruments.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from this performance will go to purchasing instruments.
On the program: Weber's Adagio and Rondo and Beethoven's Sextet in E-flat Major. Performing artists include bassoonists Benjamin Kamins and Joey Grimmer, clarinetists Richie Hawley and Lin Ma, and Emily Nagel and Young Kim on horn.
