Seventh Annual Jewish Film Festival: Protektor

eventdetail
Film Movement

Protektor explores war's odious compromises and a woman’s rebellion against them in Prague in 1938, when Germany is about to occupy Czechoslovakia. Emil, a radio reporter, is married to Hana, a successful Jewish actress. Emil’s Nazi boss agrees to pretend he does not know Hana is a Jew, provided Emil becomes the voice of Nazi propaganda.

This psychological thriller evokes ‘30s and ‘40s film noir.
