eventdetail
Art by Jorge Galvan

Señorita Cinema is all grown up this year, bringing three action-packed nights of Latina independent film to three different venues in Houston. The festival closes with the locally-shot film Homebound, directed by Fanny Veliz.

Shot on location in El Campo, Texas, and featuring Blood in Blood Out's Enrique Castillo, the film tells the story of a successful young man who returns to his small hometown of El Campo to reconnect with his roots. The film includes a special introduction by Houston's Poet Laureate Gwendolyn Zepeda.

Award-winning director Fanny Veliz will be in attendance for a Q&A after the film. Guests will also enjoy pan dulce and hot chocolate along with the screening.
