Aurora Picture Show and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston are screening Sufjan Stevens' The BQE Jan. 8 at the MFAH.
Stevens, an indie singer-songwriter, and collaborator Reuben Kleiner filmed the homage to New York City traffic on handheld cameras and used time-lapse photography, slow motion and post-production effects to stylize the footage.
The film was commissioned by the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and was originally incorporated into Stevens' live shows.
