Created to celebrate the centenary of poet Rabindranath Tagore in May 1961, the documentary Rabindranath Tagore comprises dramatized episodes from his life, plus archived images and documents. Director Satyajit Ray has been reported to have said, “Ten or 12 minutes of it are among the most moving and powerful things that I have produced.”
The film will be Introduced by author Chitra Divakaruni. A reception in the museum galleries follows the screening.
