Screening and panel discussion: "Beyond the Shadows"

eventdetail

The evening begins with a screening of Slavery Out of the Shadows: Spotlight on Human Trafficking followed by a panel discussion led by notable representatives from Houston-area anti-trafficking organizations and law enforcement agencies, including Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia. The film, produced by the Texas Young Lawyers Association, underscores the size and scope of modern day slavery in the greater Houston area, a major hub for human trafficking in the United States.

Guests can also visit an on-site marketplace of fair trade businesses and anti-trafficking organizations throughout the event.

The event will be held in the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work, 110HA Social Work Building.
