The Sam Houston Area Council Boy Scouts of America honors the Tellepsen family at its 2011 Distinguished Family Award Dinner, following their longstanding tradition of recognizing a family who has made significant contributions to the Houston community. Proceeds will benefit the Sam Houston Area Council to continue to serve their 60,000 Scouts.
