The 16th Annual Salvation Army’s Boys & Girls Clubs Youth of the Year Scholarship Awards Banquet will recognize and honor 24 students in the Youth of the Year Scholarship Program. Over $100,000 in scholarships is expected to be awarded to the students that completed the year-round youth development program and competition.
The Youth of the Year Scholarship Program provides scholarship opportunities for students to continue their education upon graduating from high school to a learning institution of the students’ choice. The Program was established to encourage academic success for young people, ages 12-18 years old, to ensure a brighter future as a productive citizen upon graduating from college. To date the YOY Program has awarded over $1.3 Million in scholarships to our Youth of the Year participants. Scholarship funds are raised by volunteers of the Youth of the Year Scholarship Program.
This year’s Youth of the Year Scholarship Awards Banquet is hosted by The Youth of the Year Ambassadors, a volunteer organization, and co-chaired by Sarah Burchfield and Frances Howard. The 2022 Youth of the Year Honoree will be the esteemed Lilly Andress, who will be recognized for her generous and longtime support of The Youth of the Year Scholarship Program along with her service commitment to The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary and to the Advisory Board as well as countless other important community organizations.
