The Russian Cultural Center presents Yiddish Mame

A 2008 Israeli documentary, Yiddish Mame is produced and written by Fima Shlick and directed by Shlick & Genady Kuchuk. Soviet Union immigrant Zina's world comes crashing down when her only son, Gena, announces his intentions to marry his longtime girlfriend, Nurit, from Ethiopia. This feature-length movie received the highest award at ArtDocFest in Moscow and special recognition from the mayor of Tel Aviv in 2008. The film is in Russian & Hebrew with English subtitles.
