Rothko Chapel Lecture: "Dismantling Hurtful Worldviews on Earth Day"

eventdetail

What can feminism teach us about alternative ways to approach the environment? Ecofeminism envisions feminism and ecology as interconnected, arguing that the worldview that causes environmental degradation is the same that causes inequality for women.

On Earth Day, Anne McClintock discusses what ecofeminism can teach us, and how it can change the way we treat the Earth.

McClintock is a writer, feminist scholar and public intellectual who has published widely on issues of sexuality, race, imperialism and nationalism, including the best-selling Imperial Leather: Race, Gender and Sexuality in the Colonial Contest.

A reception on the plaza will follow the program.
