Traveling from Mazatlán, Mexico, Banda El Recodo brings more than seven decades of experience to the RODEOHOUSTON® stage. Formed by Don Cruz Lizárraga in 1938, the 17-member band is credited as being the first banda to not only be recorded, but also to have performed, on five continents.
Banda El Recodo has developed a reputation as one of Mexico’s most successful norteña bands. Since its formation, the band has recorded more than 200 studio albums, with five albums receiving Latin GRAMMY® awards for Best Banda Album.
Meanwhile, Bandmates Jesse Turner, Joey Flores, Joseph Charles Scott, Fabian Navarette, David Rosas and Sergio Tabares began performing together as teenagers in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. Touring together since 2000 as Siggno, the group puts their own twist on traditional Tejano music.
In 2013, Siggno got their big break when “El Mundo Se Acabo” reached No. 4 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart. The group’s success heightened in 2015 and 2016 when their two follow-up albums, “Zodiacal” and “Yo Te Esperare,” reached No. 2 and No. 1, respectively.
