While country rocker Brantley Gilbert has been writing hit songs for several years, he just recently found his success as a singer when his hit "Country Must Be Country Wide" was released in 2011. Before his singing success, Gilbert was credited with writing Jason Aldean's popular hit "Dirt Road Anthem," co-written and originally recorded by Colt Ford. Aldean also covered Gilbert's song "The Best of Me."
Gilbert, a Jefferson, Ga., native, began writing and singing original music when he was 13. He has released two studio albums, with the most recent, Halfway to Heaven, peaking at No. 2 on the U.S. Country Billboard chart, and was nominated for Best New Artist of the Year at the 2012 Country Music Association Awards.
