Rock-n-Roll Weekend at Constellation Field: REO Speedwagon and Night Ranger

eventdetail
Mark Weiss

The Sugar Land Skeeters' first concerts at Constellation Field are headlined by two nationally-known artists. The all-star weekend lineup includes REO Speedwagon and Night Ranger on Oct. 19 and ZZ Top and Kenny Wayne Shepherd on Oct. 20. Produced by ACE Live as part of a multi-year agreement, these concerts kick off the beginning of a series of shows that will be presented at the stadium in the coming years.

Formed in 1967, signed in 1971 and fronted by iconic vocalist Kevin Cronin since 1972, REO Speedwagon has been a confounding blend of consistency and change. The group rode in station wagons, going from tiny gigs to even tinier gigs, just to get the REO name out in the early days. Later they rode the top of the charts with an RIAA certified 22 million albums sold in the U.S. and 40 million around the globe, with a sting of gold and platinum records and international hit singles. The nine-times certified Hi Infidelity remains a high-water mark for rock bands.
