River Oaks Chamber Orchestra presents "ROCO Celebrates Asia"

Mei-Ann Chen returns to Houston to lead the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra as guest conductor for the first full orchestra concert of the season. This performance, titled "ROCO Celebrates Asia," includes compositions and composers strongly influenced by various Asian cultures.

The program includes Folks Songs for Orchestra, arranged especially for ROCO by composer Huang Ro; the world premiere of Teen Murti, commissioned from Indian-American composer Reena Esmail; and Bartok's Suite No. 2 for Small Orchestra. Benjamin Britten's Serenade will spotlight tenor Zach Averyt and Danielle Kuhlmann on horn.
