It all started ten years ago with oboist Alecia Lawyer, violinist Brian Lewis, music by Rossini and a group of musical friends committed to each other and the community. The story of the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra continues in this 10th anniversary season opening performance that features a world premiere violin concerto by acclaimed composer Maria Newman.

Also on the program led by guest conductor Victor Yampolsky are Rossini's Overture to Italian in Algiers, Britten's Suite on English Folk Tunes and Mozart's Jupiter Symphony.
