The River Oaks Chamber Orchestra Brass Quintet will present a mélange of classical compositions and jazz tunes, including works by Bernard Rands, André Lafosse and Duke Ellington. With special guest organist Kirk Rich, the ensemble programs French composer and organist Marcel Dupré’s “Poème Héroïque” for organ and brass, a work that was written for the completion of the restoration of Verdun Cathedral, Lorraine, France, in 1935, in memory of those killed in the Battle of Verdun during World War I. Featured musicians include George Chase and Jason Adams, trumpets; Gavin Reed, horn; Thomas Hulten, trombone; and Will Samson, tuba.
