Each month, Rienzi highlights a great work of art in its collection as part of gallery talks presented by museum curators, conservators and librarians. Join for the next talk and discuss the 18th-century Worcester Porcelain Cup and Saucer, decorated in the style of the French painter Antoine Watteau, a master of depicting elegant aristocratic figures relaxing outdoors.
November's gallery talk is presented by Cindi Strauss, curator of modern and contemporary decorative arts and design, who will also explore how these scenes of fêtes galantes became popular in England in the latter half of the 18th century and were rendered with great skill by the London decorator James Giles.
