Presented in conjunction with The Wedding Dress, a special exhibition on view at Rienzi, the Rienzi Spring Lecture focuses on what makes "the dress" so special. Hazel Clark, research chair of Fashion for Parsons, The New School for Design, will lead a discussion about the evolution of the wedding dress.

For many brides, their wedding dress is at the center of their wedding fantasy and a key to their memories of the day. But what is it that makes "the dress" so special? Through historical and contemporary examples, Clark will explore the continuing significance of the wedding dress and its capacity to transform and be transformed.
