American folk artist Richard Buckner plays with an alternative country twinge in the tradition of Townes Van Zandt. His Houston show, hosted by Marcy and Douglas Newman, will be held in a private residence — open to only 30 some guests — to enhance the intimate gist of his soulful lyrics. As Pichfork describes, "His deep-grained acoustic guitar playing is splintery as a raw plank. His voice is a long gnarled shape with a silky finish, like a sea-polished branch, and gives a roughshod impression that belies its smooth range and secure pitch."
Concert-goers will receive location details upon ticket purchase.
