Prohibition was the birthplace of the craft cocktail movement. The dark era of Prohibition, which lasted 13 years, was finally lifted on Dec. 5. Join Houston's own Prohibition for Repeal Day and commemorate the rich traditions of craft cocktails with a toast to constitutional rights.
From 3-7 p.m. the restaurant will kick off the evening with happy hour specials including $1 oysters, $7 chargrilled oysters, $1 crudo bites and $6 old fashioneds and champagne specials. Later in the evening, from 10 p.m.-2 a.m., the Bootleggers Ball in the bar will have guests marveling at appearances by Cocktail Mistress Elaine Marie Collum, Flare Bartenders Jonathan and Jordan as well as aerial bartending.
Sip and swing the night away while enjoying live music, bottled cocktail specials and participating in the Inserting of the Bung ceremony, which is a demonstration in barrel-aging. Opt for a more all-inclusive package with the Repeal Day Dinner and Show from 9-11 p.m. in Prohibition's theatre.
