ReelAbilities: Houston Disabilities Film Festival 2013 Opening Night screening of Ocean Heaven

ReelAbilities is the largest film festival in the nation committed to promoting appreciation and awareness of the lives, stories and artistic expressions of people with various disabilities. The festival will present award-winning films by and about people with disabilities in multiple locations throughout the city. Post-screening discussions and other engaging programs will explore, discuss, embrace and celebrate the diversity of shared human experiences.

The festival is hosted by The Jewish Family Service Disability Services Alexander Institute for Inclusion, a nonprofit committed to fostering a community that includes all individuals by striving to eliminate the stigma associated with disabilities.

Opening night begins with a reception at 6 p.m. followed by the screening of Ocean Heaven at 7 p.m.

Jet Li, in his first dramatic role, stars in this moving story of a father's tireless love for his son with Autism and his attempt to teach his son the life skills necessary to surviving on his own. Ocean Heaven is a poignant tribute to parents' infinite love for their children.
