Redbud Arts Center presents an exhibition of David Adickes’ works, titled “Bronzes from the Past.”
Adickes is a sculptor, painter, writer, poet, storyteller, jokester, musician, and entrepreneur. In one word, he is a renaissance man. At age 22, he travelled to France and studied under the famous French painter and sculptor Fernand Léger and he was hooked to create an impressive body of work.
Amongst many paintings that mirror his travel and life experiences, he is well known for his iconic sculptures such as the Presidents’ Heads, the Beatles, and the Virtuoso cellist that are scattered throughout Houston. A drive to Huntsville greets cars with a giant statue of Sam Houston.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display until July 29.
