Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau
Moody Gallery is presenting over 50 mixed media works on paper by Michael Miller. Conceived in fabric and acrylic, the works will be installed salon-style, floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall. By incorporating discount bin printed fabrics, graphic depictions of plants and animals and descriptive or incongruous text, Miller conveys a commentary on our consumer and media-driven society. Miller's work has been exhibited at San Antonio's Artpace and the 42nd Biennial Exhibition of Contemporary American Painting at Washington, D.C.'s Corcoran Gallery of Art. Works by Miller may be found in many permanent public collections, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and the Dallas Museum of Art. Miller participated as a Core Fellow at the Glassell School of Art.
A reception for the artist is being held on Saturday, July 10, 6-8 p.m.
