Readings About Art, Marking the Menil's 25th Anniversary: "Poems for a Quarter Century"

eventdetail
Menil Collection

Art, one of poetry's enduring concerns, is the subject of this silver-anniversary event. Hear a distinguished group of poets read, from their own poetry and also the poems of others, about art and artists in the Menil Collection.

Readers include Tomás Q. Morin, Jennifer Grotz, Dean Young, Stanley Plumly and Terrence Doody. Organizing the program poet and professor Sasha West has also invited three HISD students — Lauren Dillard, Diego Alverez and Maddie Gonzales — from the museum's education program, Writing at the Menil. Each will read one original work inspired by the collection.
