Joel Laviolette and Rattletree Marimba bring the Afro-Electronica dance party to the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art. Based in Austin, the two are at the forefront of a new era of live electronica that merges new sounds with the roots of ancient, organic and authentic instruments. Performing with giant hand-built marimbas, they create a high-energy stage presence and uplifting high-vibration dance music.
From 2-4 p.m., the band will host a free community workshop for people of all ages. Come learn how to play on the marimbas and make your own beautiful music. No experience required, beginners, children and families are encouraged.
Then at 7 p.m., Rattletree Marimba will give a performance that is sure to get you moving.
