The Queensbury Theatre Guild is talking “Derby” by holding a “Run for the Roses” fundraiser for the longest running nonprofit community theatre in Houston. The theatre was established in 1956 under the name Country Playhouse and in 2015 the theatre debuted the results of a complete rebuild and the name updated to reflect its location at 12777 Queensbury Lane.
The Kentucky Derby tradition will be in full gear at the fundraising event. Guests will be able to sip mint juleps while listening to "My Old Kentucky Home." Both men and women can enter a contest by participating in a Kentucky Derby Hat Parade. The fundraiser will also feature a silent auction.
