The newly renamed Queensbury Theatre present Oleanna, a renowned play written by David Mamet surrounding the consequences of miscommunication between a male college professor and his impressionable female student. The production is directed by Stuart Purdy.
A private meeting between a college student and her professor leads to misunderstanding, confusion, power play, chaos — and pain for both. A disturbing, provocative, unpredictable and moving play is guaranteed to send you from the theater ready for an argument or a stiff drink.
Queensbury Theatre, formerly Country Playhouse, was founded in early 1956 and settled in various locations around Houston over the years. In 1981, the theater finally found a place to call home in Town and Country on Queensbury Lane, and the brand new building will open in the same location in early 2015.
